Picture of the week: Sunset on Rapa Nui

At the end of my semester abroad, I spent nearly a month traveling around South America.  In the middle of that month, I flew to Rapa Nui, an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  Also known as Easter Island because of its being “discovered” on Easter, Rapa Nui is the home of the moai, monumental statues that sit along the coast of the island.  The island is hundreds of miles away from its nearest neighbors, and watching the sunset over the endless ocean on a warm evening is nothing short of blissful.
